The results of the conference “Arctic region, a safe territory”
On 18 February, academic and research conference “Arctic region, a safe territory” was launched in Arctic rescue training centre “Vytegra” of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
The conference was officially opened by vice chairman of the Federation Council, celebrated emergency response worker of Russia Yurii Vorobiev who began his speech with the following:
“I am glad that we all managed to gather on the bank of Onega lake. I think this event to be very important for all of us – divers, specialists in underwater works, specialists producing equipment for Arctic operations, medical workers toiling in severe conditions of the North. The topic of this conference is of top priority for Russia today, so all the exhibitors demonstrating their achievements and capabilities solve important problem of reclaiming the Arctic region”.
In terms of conference events, our company introduced our products at the stand.
Conference participants managed to learn exploitation and technical characteristics of hovercraft Christy 555 (now named Christy 458) in the course of demonstration drives in real ice conditions including crossing land fast and pack ice zones.
Various entities took part in these test drives- both emergency rescue and law enforcement departments, and private entities shown interest to our products.
At the video, you can see one of the tests when the hovercraft was travelling with full load (8 people!) on pack ice of Onega lake. The height of the pack ice in some places reached 60 cm.
Conference participants including event managers highly evaluated our products showing surprise that such hovercraft are assembled in small enterprise in Saint Petersburg and budgeted with private means.
Furthermore, in terms of one of the conference events we exchanged the proposals on ensuring safe hovercraft exploitation with deputy chief of department of ensuring people’s safety in water zones of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
As a result, about four hundred people took part in the conference including more than one hundred divers, and Russian rescue transport and hovercraft manufacturers. Apart from hovercraft test drives, rescue equipment was also demonstrated such as amphibious boats, diving stations and equipment, closed cycle respiration devices and other lifesaving technique.
Thus, after demonstration of exploitation characteristics of our hovercraft, two vessels are brought into production within the terms of new contacts.
