Excellent durability of amphibious hovercraft Christy
Christyhovercraft team presents a new video showing excellent durability of amphibious hovercraft Christy FC 458 (555) with a pressurized receiver and independent segments.
During demonstration drives at the 2016 Baltic Sea Festival exhibition on the final day, a gust of wind threw the hovercraft on a pontoon fencing after numerous successful passes at different speeds through a pontoon, thus flexible skirt segment was hooked, and as a result the hovercraft lost 14 segments in a row on the left side, and it is approximately 15% of the total number of segments.
Notwithstanding the air letting gap between the receiver and the surface with about 2000 mm length, Christy 555 FC did not lose the ability to stay afloat and move in displacement regime, and could easily start hovering on water and ground.
However, it was worth noting that the hovercraft started to divert towards the side with damaged segments, but overall controllability remained at the proper level.

Note: In all of these videos you can see a variety of driving styles: from a quiet to aggressive, because different pilots operate hovercrafts. These videos are not commercial, but are video reports on the hovercraft commissioned to the Customer.
