An effective solution for the oil spill response

The company Gobbler Boats develops a highly efficient and economically viable solutions for the elimination of oil contaminants, which are successfully applied in practice.

The patented Gobbler mounting, as well as a set of equipment developed in association with the Lloyds Register, are recognized as a highly effective means for the controlling of oil pollution.

The world practice has found the need to use the vessels that are specifically designed for the cleaning of oil pollution. For this purpose, the cleaning equipment is installed on the Gobbler vessels, and the hovercrafts manufactured by the company Christy Hovercaft are equipped with the special containers for the sorbent transportation, which allow solving the oil refining tasks of any complexity.

A specially equipped air-cushion vessel Christyhovercraft delivers quickly the sorbent intended for the oil collecting to any place where the pollution has occurred: in shallow water, water areas covered with the vegetation, beaches, coastal zones and areas where the other vehicles cannot be used.

Such technology foresees the treating of the polluted surfaces with a sorbent that absorbs the oil like a sponge and pumped into the storage tanks where the water and oil are separated and can be reused. The water returns after the filtration to the reservoir, and the oil is stored on a board in the tanks for utilization. The remaining sorbent can be pressed and stored in the containers.

The combination of the methods and an increased interest to the problem from the private sector characterize the development of the technologies and methods for the eliminating of oil spills around the ports as a result of various incidents. The use of the special chemicals, vessels and equipment allows us to successfully cope with the consequences of such man-caused disasters, which will help to preserve the environment.
