Routine test of a rescue boat in difficult ice conditions
Sea tests of an upgraded version of hovercraft Christy 6183 DeLuxe RESCUE, specially designed for rescue operations, have been completed.
During the test drive right on the run our team adjusted final settings of cruise engine and pressure-rotor systems for optimal engine operating mode. The angles of the blades, fuel mixture formation process (maximum Power at maximum efficiency) were optimized.
New propeller blades with polyurethane protection against abrasion and new technical solutions for the design of flexible protection were also tested in practice. Quick start on water with different loading of the ship - from one to six people plus fuel and equipment- was practiced. Start in each case was certain without problems. Participants of the test-drive also noted exceptional mobility and the opportunity for immediate delivery of rescue crew to the destination and a quick return to the shore, followed by loading onto a trailer for delivery of the hovercraft and the crew to the site of deployment. The time from arrival of the car with a trailer to the foreshore to the start of the movement on the water surface is not more than 3 minutes. Loading upon return takes from 3 to 5 minutes. This is the best result among the ACV of this capacity.
All the improvements have shown its relevance and effectiveness. On this basis the recommendations and amendments to the instructions for use and management were made.
